Volt – a new initiative for contemporary art in Bergen – will open with an exhibition by the Swedish author, musician and artist Johannes Heldén from Stockholm. Heldén has published the books Burner (2003); Det Underjordiska Systemet (2005); En Maskin Av Ljus (2006); The Prime Directive, an online publication on Afsnit P [afsnitp.dk]; Bug Bomb (2007); The Electorate (2008), an online publication for Bonnier Lyrik.

Heldén holds an MFA from the Valand Academy of Fine Arts, Gothenburg, Sweden. (1999-2004). Recent exhibitions include Mot Tiden at Bonniers Konsthall in Stockholm (2007;, Let There Be Light at Luleå Konsthall (2007); and this year’s Arts Birthday at Moderna Museet in Stockholm; 24 h Drone People at Fylkingen in Stockholm and at iDEAL 10 in Uppsala. In Norway Heldén has previously held a performance the 10th anniversary of the publication 3t at the Box Theatre in Oslo (2006) and participated in the group exhibition Future Primitive at UKS/The Young Artists’ Society (2007).
