You got A good one! (The Bergen Mix)

Lars Hilles gate/Christies gate, Bergen Map

Opening 9 December at 19:00

You got A good one! (The Bergen Mix) is an installation by the Greek artist Dimitris Ioannou, which consist of cardboard packaging that has been used to post 12” vinyls. The exhibition examines the process of collection and the recycling of “useless” objects. Ioannou has filled the windows of Volt with around 200 packing cases that have housed records, which he has purchased from e-bay and online music stores. The packages have been sent from all around the world and each has the name and address of the recipient printed on it, which is the artist himself. By putting all the packages together Ioannou creates different narratives about their spatial and temporal origin, which also invoke elements of the artist’s own history. The packaging constitutes physical traces of the process of creating a music collection that stretches over a period of five years. The title of the exhibition is taken from a note included in the package containing one of Ioannou purchased LPs.
